East Milwaukee St

East Milwaukee St

The East Milwaukee St project began in April 2023 and was completed in early October 2023. This project involved the complete reconstruction of East Milwaukee St, spanning from Atwood Avenue to Main St in downtown Janesville.

The scope of work for this project included common excavation, concrete pavement, storm sewer installation, water main installation, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, decorative concrete, decorative landscaping, and street lighting.

The project quantities included 8,500 square yards of 8” concrete pavement, 3,200 linear feet of curb and gutter, 7,000 cubic yards of common excavation, 3,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer, 2,000 linear feet of ductile iron water main, 1,800 square yards of sod lawn, 350 tons of hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement, and 6,500 tons of base aggregate dense (BAD) 1 ¼ inch.

The project presented several challenges, such as maintaining access to businesses and addressing utility conflicts with the storm sewer and water main.
